Town's 'AAA' Credit Rating Affirmed

Standard and Poor's Rating Services has affirmed the Town of Windsor's 'AAA' rating, making Windsor just one of 24 municipalities in the state that has a 'AAA' credit rating. Standard & Poor's credit report states the long-term rating reflects the towns:

  • Location near and access to large employment centers in CT
  • Very strong income levels and extremely strong per capita market value
  • Favorable operating results, very strong financial reserves, and strong management policies and practices
  • Low to moderate debt burden

Standard & Poor's also assigned a stable outlook which reflects their expectation that we will maintain strong to very strong reserves and a stable property tax base. They also noted strong wealth and income levels will continue to provide for stable property taxes.
