Landfill Directions

The Windsor-Bloomfield Landfill accepts trash and recyclables from residents of both Windsor and Bloomfield as well as commercial/out-of-town business vehicles.  Since the Town of Windsor does not pick up household trash, homeowners can dispose of trash at the landfill (fee) or arrange for curbside pickup by calling a private hauler. 

Once a year a Household Hazardous Waste Day is scheduled in Windsor.  If that day is not convenient, Windsor residents can take part in any sponsored collection held in any of the listed towns where common household hazardous waste items are accepted.  Click here for the HazWaste Info Pack.

There is a "take it or leave it" area at the landfill where residents can leave items in usable condition or take items for their own use at no charge. 

Residents living in the Windsor Fire District (Windsor Center) or Wilson Fire District (south of Wolcott Avenue) are charged an additional fire district tax that covers trash pickup by Windsor Sanitation.
