Windsor Town Council
Public Hearing
Council Chambers – Town Hall
September 3, 2002
Approved Minutes
Mayor Trinks called the Public Hearing to order at
7:18 p.m. to discuss "An ordinance appropriating
$235,000 for the roof replacement and related work at
Windsor High School and the construction of HVAC
screening and related work at the high school and
authorizing the issue of $235,000 bonds and notes to
finance the appropriation."
Mayor Trinks read the legal notice which was
published in the Journal Inquirer on August 12, 2002
Public Comment
Mr. Bradshaw Smith, 23 Ludlow Road, addressed the
Town Council. This proposed project should be addressed
for structural integrity. A cost of $90,000 for rooftop
screenings is not necessary. Everyone has seen the a/c
units, so why spend that much money for screening?
Mr. Smith compared the football field lights project
with this ordinance for meeting the educational needs of
the school. He noted that he hasn’t heard any residents
in support of this project, but he has heard many in
favor of the football field lights.
He quoted the PBC regarding the football field
lights. "The Commission discussed the additional funding
request to the Town Council. It was agreed that this
money would be used to improve the educational process
of the school. It was noted that many items were
required to meet the code and were not intended in the
original project."
The Public Meeting was adjourned at 7:24 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Kristin Countryman
Clerk of the Windsor Town Council
