Public Comment
Mr. Bradshaw Smith, 23 Ludlow Road, said that the
price of $130,000 is bargain basement fire sale price
for this type of property. Apparently it is a
consideration for the buyer’s intent to use the land as
a cemetery. However, when you see the deed, there are
absolutely no restrictions on how the land may be used
once it is sold. Two weeks or two years down the line
they can subdivide the land and sell it for a nice
profit. If a cemetery were indeed their intent, there
would have to be some kind of restriction in the deed to
restrict it from being used for any other purpose. As
the sale currently stands, it is a straightforward
commercial land sale.
Mayor Trinks closed the public hearing at 7:20 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Kristin Countryman
