Town Clerk Kathleen Quin called the meeting to order at 7:39pm.

PRESENT:

Council Members: Domenico Albano, Paul Broxterman, Timothy Curtis, John Haverstock, Mary Hogan, James Pacino, L. James Ristas, Alan Simon, Donald Trinks

Constables: Kenneth Herman, Norman Nadeau

1. SWEARING IN OF TOWN OFFICIALS

All council members and constables took the oath administered by Town Clerk Kathleen Quin and signed the oath book.

2. APPOINTMENT OF MAYOR

Council member Don Trinks made a motion, seconded by Council member John Haverstock to nominate Mary Hogan for Mayor. The motion passed 9-0-0.

3. APPOINTMENT OF DEPUTY MAYOR

Council member Don Trinks made a motion, seconded by Council member Paul Broxterman to nominate Timothy Curtis as Deputy Mayor. The motion passed 9-0-0.

4. APPOINTMENT OF CLERK TO THE COUNCIL

Council member Don Trinks made a motion, seconded by Council member James Pacino to nominate Abigail LaViolette as Clerk of the Council. The motion passed 9-0-0.

5. APPOINTMENT OF STANDING COMMITTEES

Mayor Mary Hogan, appointed the standing committees as follows:

Finance:        Chairperson Trinks, Council members Broxterman and Ristas
Special Projects:         Chairperson Simon,Council members Curtis and Haverstock
Town Improvements:    Chairperson Curtis, Council members Simon and Pacino
Health & Safety:        Chairperson Broxterman, Council members Trinks and Albano
       
6. APPOINTMENT OF TOWN ATTORNEY

Deputy Mayor Curtis made a motion, seconded by Council member Ristas to nominate Vincent Oswecki as Town Attorney. The motion passed 8-0-1.

Council member Simon abstained from the vote because he felt the current process of selecting Town Attorney is flawed and in need of reform.

7. APPOINTMENT OF TOWN TREASURER

Deputy Mayor Curtis made a motion, seconded by Council member Broxterman to nominate Randall Graff as Town Treasurer. The motion passed 9-0-0.

8. ADJOURNMENT

Council member Haverstock made a motion, seconded by Council member James Pacino to adjourn at 7:45pm. The motion passed 9-0-0.
