Income Tax Service for Seniors

The Windsor Senior Center is proud to offer "Income Tax Consulting for Seniors." This free service is offered every Monday and Thursday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM through March 29^th. Get the advice you need to fill out your federal and state income tax returns from trained AARP volunteers.

Appointments are necessary; please call the senior center staff at 860-286-1992 for more information. Last year over 400 individuals were assisted through this program.

Budget Workshop February 22

The second of three budget workshops will be held tomorrow evening, February 22nd, reviewing the preparation of the 2012 - 2013 budget.     The workshop will be held at 7:00 PM in the Ludlow Room here at Town Hall. 

The budget workshop will be an informal and interactive gathering that will provide residents with an opportunity to offer their thoughts on how to prioritize spending while meeting the needs of the community with the budget that will take effect July 1, 2012.

Barber Street Area Neighborhood Conversation

Our Neighborhood Enhancement team (NET) will be meeting with residents from the East Barber/Skitchewaug area neighborhood on Thursday, March 8^th at 6:30 PM at the Wilson Branch Library.

At this first meeting, staff representing seven town departments together with members of the early Childhood Council will share information on town services and learn if there are additional ways we can assist and partner with residents in this neighborhood.

Some of our staff members have recently been very successful in teaming with a neighborhood in the Poquonock Avenue area, which has helped to enhance the quality of service being provided, and increase the friendly connection among the neighbors themselves.  We look forward to moving forward with additional neighborhoods in this concentrated way.
