Windsor Recreation & Leisure Services offers great fitness programs for all ages and fitness interest. Take a look at the great offerings we have this fall.



For those who want to show their sporting talents, there is adult open basketball and volleyball. Open volleybal is held on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7:30pm-9pm. Open basketball is held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7:30pm-9pm and Sunday mornings from 9am-12pm. Passes are $35.00 each or $2.00 at the door. January 3: Hwa Yu Tai Chi-From 6:00pm-8:00pm. Windsor Recreation & Leisure Services proud to present Hwa Yu Tai Chi Chuan. Hwa Yu Tai Chi Chuan is a unique health exercise originating with this internal martial art. Focus is on improved balance, with core muscle development. Benefits are increased bone density, improved immune response, and improved range of motion. A low impact exercise that will work your muscles improving diabetic glucose levels and increased energy. All beginners are welcome. Class size will be limited to 8 participants. The fee for this class is $32.00. This class will meet from 6:00pm to 8:00pm through January 31 at the L.P. Wilson Community Center.
January 8: Yin Yoga-From 9:30am-11:30am. Are you looking for a different type of Yoga? Visit the L.P. Wilson Community Center every other Sunday from 9:30am-11:30am and try our Ying Yoga, an increasingly popular form of yoga that relies on several core poses that are not difficult. The goal is to safely loosen and relax muscles, leading to ease of movement in the joints. Yin Yoga Provides for a meditative and mind-clearing practice that helps practitioners learn how to focus on the moment, thus reducing anxiety, tension and stress. The class has mixed levels, from easy to moderate and suitable for beginners. Please wear loose comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat and a light blanket. The fee for this class is $48.00. This class held every other Sunday through February 26 at LP Wilson Community Center.
January 9: Water Fitness-From 7:30pm-8:30pm. Ditch the land and jump into the water with Water Fitness. Using water's natural resistance we will bend, lift, and work our way to a strong body. The impact is low and suited to all abilities. The fee for this class is $72.00. This class meets Monday and Wednesdays from 7:30pm-8:30pm through February 27 at Windsor High School.
January 9: Cardio Mix-From 6:00pm-7:00pm. Drop the winter boredom and join us for Cardio Mix. These fresh and never boring aerobic combinations using step patterns, kickboxing and interval training will put some WOW back in your workout. Meets Monday and Wednesdays from 6:00pm -7:00pm till March 5 at LP Wilson Community Center.
January 10: Zumba-7:00pm-8:00pm. Ditch the workout and join the party! Windsor Recreation and Leisure Services presents Zumba. This class is a fusion of Latin & international music-dance themes with easy to follow moves that create an exciting and effective fitness system. You don't have to know how to dance to have fun and enjoy this class. Just feel the music and dance the pounds away! The fee for this class is $45.00. Class meets Tuesday evenings from 7:00pm to 8:00pm till February 14 at the Roger Wolcott Early Childhood Center.
January 10: Therapeutic Yoga-From 6:00pm-7:00pm. Are you stressed? If so Therapeutic Yoga class is for you. This course offers a system of self-care that focuses on health and wellness in the physical body, balance and efficiency in breath and energy and learning to accept and work with the mind and emotions. The fee for this class is $50.00. This class is for all levels and will be held each Tuesday from 6:00pm-7:00pm till February 14 at LP Wilson Community Center.

February 7: Lap Swim-From 5:30pm-7:00pm (Tuesday) & 7:30pm-8:30pm (Thursday). What better way to stay in shape this fall than swimming laps. Lap Swim registration is $45.00 per person per session (sessions are subject to change). Sharing lanes is expected. There is NO money taken at the door, registration must be made at the Recreation Office or online. Lap Swim will be held on Tuesdays (share pool with lessons) 5:30pm-7:00pm and on Thursday from 7:30pm-8:30pm till April 5 at the Windsor High School Indoor Pool. There is No lap swim on Feb. 21 or 23 due to school vacation.
