Taxes Due July 1, 2017

Tax bills are scheduled to be mailed on June 23, 2017.


Real estate, personal property taxes and motor vehicle taxes are due in full on July 1, 2017, and payable by August 1, 2017.  Taxes are considered delinquent if unpaid on August 2nd.  If any taxpayer has not received their tax bills by July 1, 2017, they should contact the Tax Office at 860-285-1810 to obtain a copy.


The Tax Office hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or you can pay online with an electronic check or with your debit/credit card.

2017 Public Works Paving Program

The following is a list of streets to be milled and repaved as part of the first phase of the 2017 Public Works Paving program.  Work is scheduled to begin Monday, June 19, 2017.  This work will include minor delays; however, the road will remain open at all times.  During this time, please do not park vehicles in the roadway so that work may progress in a safe and timely manner.


Town Center Area

  • Mechanic Street
  • Union Street


Wilson Area

  • Aramamet Street
  • Attawanot Street
  • Lyme Street
  • Irving Street
  • Saville Street
  • Skitchewaug Street
  • Songonosk Street


Additional roadway milling and paving is planned for the 2017 calendar year under this program and a list of streets to be included in the next phase will be posted once funding is approved for fiscal year 2018.  If you have any questions regarding these projects, you may contact Robert Jarvis, Director of Public Works/ Town Engineer at (860) 285-1804. 



Farmer’s Market to Begin Thursday

First Town Downtown is bringing back the Farmers Market every Thursday this summer beginning June 22nd.  The Farmer’s Market will be held on Thursdays from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM at 240 Broad Street (corner of Broad and Maple) through October 19th.  A few new vendors have been added this year as well as the variety of fresh locally grown produce and specialty items offered last year. Touch-A-Truck Summer Kickoff at Windsor Library June 24th

Windsor Public Library will host special guests from the Fire, Police and Public Works Departments for aTouch-A-Truck Summer Kickoff event this Saturday, June 24th from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM.  All are invited to attend this fun, hands-on opportunity where participants of all ages can touch the trucks, honk the horns and climb on the vehicles that will be on display. Sign up for the summer reading program and other free activities will also be happening on the Eagle Green located in front of the Main Library.  For more information, call 860-285-1914.


Crime prevention reminder

Just a reminder to please lock your vehicles overnight as there has recently been a number of larcenies from unlocked vehicles. This is not isolated to Windsor. Various towns in the metro area have also experienced similar activity.  Please do not hesitate to contact the Police Department if you see any suspicious activity.
