Adinkra with Emmanuel Owusu

April 20, 2021 @ 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm

Adinkra cloths are a West African tradition once meant for only royalty. For this program, we’ll be hosting Emmanuel Owusu (professor at Boston University) to teach participants about the history and symbolism of Adinkra. Participants will be able to pick up Take-And-Make kits to create their own Adinkra cloths during or after the presentation! The meaning and appearance of difference symbols will be taught during the live Zoom session, but will also be available in the kit.

Supplies are limited so register today! *PARENTAL ADVISORY: This project requires linoleum carving. Carving tools will be included in this kit. Please supervise your teen for this program. A waiver will need to be signed before the kit can be taken home.
