Family Nature Experience: Decomposition
As the seasons change from summer to fall and nature prepares itself for winter slumber, discover the important role decomposers play in the food chain by recycling nutrients and breaking down dead plants and animals. Explore our garden compost bins in search for decomposers and learn how you can start your own at home!

Northwest Park invites families (children ages 5-12 and their guardians) to join us in hand-son science & nature exploration. Adults should be prepared to work with their child(ren) to facilitate hands-on learning in response to COVID-19 safety and in an effort to limit social contacts. Guardians will learn how to facilitate hands-on experiences in science & nature through modeling. Preregistration required as space is limited.
