Seed saving is more than a hobby or pastime, it is a means to food justice, food sovereignty and self-sufficiency. Join Samad Gardens Initiative at the Wilson Branch Library on Saturday, September 24 from 10:30 AM to noon for a Seed Saving Workshop. This workshop will include a basic overview of plant genetics and reproduction needed for seed saving, as well as practical techniques to saving and storing seeds. We will cover the seed saving of “dry” and “wet” seeds. In the hands on portion, participants will save a variety of herb and vegetable seeds to take home.
