Octavia E. Butler paved the way for black, female science fiction authors in the early 70’s. In her now public journal entries, she focused on manifesting having her books on multiple best seller lists, including the New York Times. Now, nearly fifty years later and 14 years after her death, her wishes have come true with Parable of the Sower.
