Windsor Community Television (Win-TV)

Windsor Community Television (Win-TV)

Windsor Community Television, or as most people know it, Win-TV, is the local public access TV station that has been providing Windsor with content for 30 years. Win-TV televises Windsor’s local government meetings and recreational events, as well as providing many other kinds of programming. Their mission is to foster communication, freedom of speech, and local government transparency, as well as record Windsor’s history. The COVID-19 pandemic brought their content creation to an abrupt halt, however, with their building (L.P. Wilson Community Center) closing for six months. This caused them to cancel their summer youth programming and resulted in large financial losses. Throughout the pandemic, an increased number of people also cancelled their cable subscriptions, creating another loss in income for the station. With the $10,000 from the ARF Grant, the organization plans to focus on re-instituting their youth programs at full capacity and with a full staff of counselors. With this funding, the organization will begin the return to their regularly scheduled programming.
