Northwest Park Cabin Fever

Saturday, February 12th, 2022

In lieu of our large annual Cabin Fever Festival event, we are offering multiple small group family programs on Saturday, February 12 to help cure your winter boredom from being cooped up in the house. Register for one or all of these awesome winter family programs! For your safety, these programs have a limited capacity and unless noted will be held exclusively outdoors. Designed for ages 5-12; preregistration is required.

Family Winter Hike

9:00 AM to 10:30 AM

Start your Saturday morning off right with a lively winter hike.  Families are encouraged to bundle up and join Park Educators to explore our beautiful landscape, learn to identify some of our favorite trees, and ponder what the animals are up to! $8 per child (Windsor Residents); $10 per child (Nonresidents).

Winter Games: Ice Exploration

11:00 AM to 12:30 PM

Get outside with your kids for a fun-filled afternoon of icy games.  Dress for the weather and don your gloves for an active, goofy, hands-on, melty ice experience to learn about the unique properties of frozen water! $8 per child (Windsor Residents); $10 per child (Nonresidents).

Animal Evidence: Tracking & More!

1:00 PM to 2:30 PM

From tracking to owl pellets, let’s investigate what evidence animals leave behind!  Plenty of animals are awake and active in the winter and leave clues for us to examine.  Discover whether any animals truly hibernate, what others might be up to, and dissect a real piece of owl pellet as we unravel the mysteries of wildlife in winter. $8 per child (Windsor Residents); $10 per child (Nonresidents).
