NWP Camp Foxfire

Northwest Park Camp Foxfire is Open for Registration!

What is Camp Foxfire?

Northwest Park is excited to announce the inaugural season of Camp Foxfire in summer 2019! Since 1983, our Environmental Educators have connected generations of children to the natural world through summer Nature Camps at our 473 acre campus featuring native forests, fields, wetlands, and heritage farm animals in Windsor, Connecticut. With the launch of Camp Foxfire, we are pleased to offer a more immersive, in-depth experience in outdoor learning.

Camp Foxfire’s Nature Specialists will nurture each child’s curiosity and wonder for nature while building respect for self, others, and the environment. Our weeklong themed sessions for preK-grade 8 will engage children in active, field based exploration and discovery. Age appropriate activities develop confidence and resilience through progressively challenging experiences that include day trips to other environments and overnight camping trips for older levels. All lessons are designed to stimulate the scientific thinking and collaborative problem solving skills today’s children will need to become well informed, environmentally literate citizens in a rapidly changing world.

Scholarships are Available!

Based on the availability of funds, the Windsor Recreation and Leisure Services department will attempt to provide financial assistance to those residents who meet the eligibility requirements up to 50%.  Windsor Recreation and Leisure Services reserves the right to approve partial assistance or deny and applicant’s request.  The following guidelines have been developed to help make our programs safe and enjoyable for all participants.
