We work with local businesses to provide a variety of clinic services to Windsor's seniors.
Nurses from Seabury Visiting Nurse are available at the Windsor Senior Center to assess your general health, take blood pressure, blood sugar checks, review medications, provide diet, weight and nutritional information and make recommendations to help you stay healthy.
These free clinics are held at the Senior Center on the third Wednesday each month from 10:30 AM to noon. Rides can be arranged to your appointment by calling 860-285-1839 two days in advance for Dial-A-Ride patrons. Drop ins are welcome.
“Ask the Nurse” blood pressure and health clinics will be held on July 18, August 15, September 19, October 17, November 21 and December 19 for the remainder of 2018.
Free hearing clinics, conducted by a certified audiologist from Discount Hearing, are held at the Senior Center on the last Tuesday of every month from 10:00 AM to noon. Please call 860-285-1992 for an appointment. Rides can be arranged to your appointment by calling 860-285-1839 two days in advance for Dial-A-Ride patrons.
Hearing clinics will be held on July 31, August 28, September 25, October 30, November 27 and December 18 for the remainder of 2018.
The Windsor Senior Center offers free memory screenings held quarterly on the third Wednesday in September, December, March and June, 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Memory screenings performed by Hebrew Senior Care. Appointments are needed. Call 860-285-1992 for an appointment and information. Each year the Windsor Senior Center and Windsor Health Department sponsors a Senior Health Fair with the Flu & Pneumonia Shot Clinic during the early fall months. Windsor residents age 50 and over and disabled adults 18 and over will be able to receive their seasonal flu shot and/or pneumonia shot during the clinic. Many free health screenings and services are provided at the Health Fair and over 30 health and wellness vendors will be available to provide information. Registered nurses from Pedi-Care offer foot care to seniors each month at the Senior Center on the third and fourth Thursday of every month from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Nurses will trim nails and check for foot health problems. Appointments are necessary and can be made by calling 860-285-1992. The cost is $29 payable at the time of your appointment. Comfort Touch Massages by Corinne are held at the Windsor Senior Center every Friday between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Massage Therapist Corinne Zukowski is a graduate of CT Center of Massage Therapy, holds a CT LMT License and is fully insured. She will offer full body massage designed specifically for the needs and physiology of seniors; therapeutic massage for joint mobility and to improve posture; Swedish massage to improve circulation; and hands or feet massage. The sessions are anywhere from 15 minutes to 60 minutes, your choice. $1.00 per minute. Appointments are necessary and can be made by calling the Senior Center at 860-285-1992.
