Notice is hereby given to the taxpayers of the Town of Windsor, Connecticut that taxes have been levied at the rate of 33.11 mills on the October 1, 2019 Supplemental Motor Vehicle list and are due and payable in full at the office of the Tax Collector in the Town Hall on January 1, 2021.

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

DUE TO THE RECENTLY ENACTED TAX DEFERMENT PROGRAM IN ACCORDANCE GOVERNOR LAMONT’S EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 9R – the last day to pay Supplemental Motor Vehicle tax bills has been extended to April 1, 2021!

Taxes unpaid after April 1, 2021 will be deemed delinquent and as required by State Statutes will be charged 6% interest with a $2.00 minimum charge, whichever is greater, on each individual bill.  Interest will be added at the rate of 1 1/2 % per additional month or any part of a month for a total of 18% annually.  FAILURE TO RECEIVE A TAX BILL SHALL NOT INVALIDATE THE TAX OR DELINQUENT CHARGES.

For the convenience of taxpayers, payment by mail is suggested. Taxpayers who desire a receipt must return the entire bill and a stamped, self-addressed envelope with their payment.  You can also pay your bill online at www.townofwindsorct.com.  Debit and credit cards are accepted in the tax office for a convenience fee.

The Tax Collector’s office is located at 275 Broad St, Windsor, CT. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm.

Back taxes must be paid first, and all motor vehicle taxes must be paid to register a car. Delinquent motor vehicle taxes may not be paid with a personal check when requesting an immediate DMV clearance.
