Full Time Employee Benefits

Holidays:

12 holidays/year
Vacation Leave:

Unaffiliated and Dispatchers: 

Up to five years – 10 days/year

Five to ten years – 15 days/year

Ten years and over – 20 days/year

Police employees:          

1 month up to but not including the 8th year – 10 days/year

8th year up to but not including the 15th year – 15 days/year

Beginning of the 15th year of service and beyond 20 days/year

Public Works/Clerical employees:

Up to and including the 5th year of service – 10 days/year

6 years up to and including the 15th year – 15 days/year

Beginning the 16th year of service and beyond – 20 days/year

 

 Sick Leave:
 Ten days/year
Short Term Disability Plan:
66 2/3% pre-disability earnings to a max. of $1,000/week for 26 weeks [Police – 52 weeks]
Long Term Disability Plan:
66 2/3% pre-disability earnings to a max. of $5,000/month [Police excluded]
Personal Leave:
Two days/year (may earn up to 3 additional days based on usage of sick, workers’ comp, and disability leave) for unaffiliated, Public Works/Clerical and Police bargaining units
Family & Medical Leave:
Up to 12 weeks in accordance with Town policy and 1993 Federal Family & Medical Leave Act [FMLA]
Tuition Reimbursement:
75% of tuition up to $2,100 annually for unaffiliated employees
50% of tuition up to $1,400 annually for Teamsters and Dispatcher bargaining units
50% of tuition up to $2,100,annually for Police bargining units

Term life and AD&D; unaffiliated employees receive one and one-half or two times basic annual salary depending on pay grade, rounded up to the next higher thousand; Police and dispatchers receive $50,000 term life coverage; Public Works/Clerical union employees receive one times annual salary
Deferred Compensation:
Participation in 457 ICMA deferred compensation program
Retirement Plan:
401A Defined Contribution Plan for unaffiliated, Public Works/Clerical and Dispatcher employees with employee and employer each contributing 5.5% of salary; Police participate in the State of CT MERF B plan and contribute 5.00% of salary
