Ewe & You Fiber Arts

Ewe & You Fiber Arts

Knitting circles next to Town Hall have become a regular sight in Windsor, thanks to lessons and programs led by Ewe & You Fiber Arts. The business sells yarn and supplies for knitting, crocheting, and needle felting, and provides a community space for local fiber artists. Because so much of the business is dependent on the community gathering aspect, the pandemic was particularly hard on Ewe & You. All classes were cancelled for months, knitting circles were halted, and few people were buying supplies. Eventually, the classes and circles were able to resume in a limited capacity outdoors, but that meant extra costs for barriers and safety equipment, and an outdoor heater. The store also made the shift to selling goods online, but that only resulted in more extra expenses, for better photography equipment to showcase products, and supplementing shipping costs for online orders. Supply chain issues also limited the products that could be sold in the first place, as many stock items were delayed indefinitely. With the $5,000 awarded by the ARF Grant, Ewe & You will be able to increase their advertising to attract more customers to the business. The funds will also go toward operational costs to help keep their doors open, so they can keep crafting cozy creations for all of Windsor to enjoy.
