James Selig Estate Jewelry and Antiques
After the closing of Selig Jewelers, James Selig Estate Jewelry and Antiques opened in 2017. The store provided a new chance at a business in Windsor Center for the Selig family, and it got off to a good start with estate clean-outs and sales. When the pandemic hit, however, it abruptly ended the growth the business had previously been experiencing. They could no longer visit people’s homes to find goods, and had to close their store for months. After reopening the doors, they sold many items at discount prices just to get some customer volume back, but it was like starting all over again. The ARF Small Business and Nonprofit Grant awarded James Selig Antiques $10,000, providing a much-needed boost to their revenue while customer volume slowly builds back up again. They plan to use the funds for operational costs like rent and utilities, as well as advertising. With the help of the grant money, the Selig family will be able to remain a presence in Windsor Center, just as they have been for many years.
