JFK School HVAC Project

JFK School HVAC Project

John F. Kennedy (JFK) School has received a significant upgrade to its heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, thanks to an investment of $270,000 in American Rescue Funds partially funding the project. Approved in February 2023, this funding plays a pivotal role in improving the indoor air quality and energy efficiency of the school’s facilities.

This comprehensive HVAC project at JFK School includes the replacement of the original gymnasium HVAC units with new air conditioning units, ensuring a comfortable environment for physical education and school events year-round. Additionally, the project has expanded to include the complete air conditioning of hallways, replacement of outdated unit wall heaters, and the installation of a new fresh air make-up unit in the kitchen.

One of the key features of the upgrade is the integration of the new equipment with the existing Building Energy Management System. This connection is designed to enhance the control of energy usage throughout the school, promoting not only a better learning environment but also greater operational efficiency and reduced energy costs.

These improvements create a healthier and more sustainable environment for students and staff at JFK School.
