Senior Fitness Center
Our 55 and over Senior Fitness Center is the best deal in town. We offer treadmills, recumbent and stationary bikes, elliptical machines, universal machines and free weights. Our certified fitness instructor, Dee Abrams, is welcoming, energetic and very helpful. Dee has dedicated herself to improving the health of the seniors in our community for over 20 years through our various fitness programs.
To sign up for membership in the Senior Fitness Center, first complete your Fitness Center Release of Liability Waiver and bring it into the Senior Center office. A Senior Center staff member will contact you to schedule an orientation. To learn about membership fees and fitness center hours, click on the link provided.
Exercise & Movement Programs
Pickleball
Monday – Friday
Pickleball at the Windsor Senior Center is played indoors during the colder months, and outdoors in the warmer months. Indoor play runs Labor Day – Memorial Day in the L.P. Wilson Gymnasium. Outdoor play runs Memorial Day – Labor Day on the tennis courts at L.P. Wilson.
Pickleball is played daily from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM (noon) Monday thru Friday! This popular game keeps your reflexes in tip top shape and is great all-around exercise. Whether you are new to the sport or you are frequent player, we have sessions for everyone! Call us at (860) 285-1992 for more info.

Tai Chi with Ginger
Monthly Sessions
Would you like to restore your balance, increase your flexibility, boost your energy, reduce pain, relax your mind and more? If so, Tai Chi is the perfect class for you. Tai Chi is from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM, on Mondays and Fridays in the ballet room. $5.00 per class paid monthly or $6.00 per class with drop-in card. Tai Chi – meets Mondays and Fridays at 9:00 AM in the Ballet Room. Goal is to release tension, refine movements and deepen understanding of this healing art while improving muscle tone and balance.
Hiking – Hike with the Happy Hikers group on various trails in Windsor and nearby towns April – October. Call the Senior Center for more details, 860-285-1992. Free.
Line Dancing – Keep your mind and body active while you learn simple line dancing routines. Meets Fridays in the Ballet Room 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM. Free.
Personal Training – Dee Abrams is a certified personal trainer who provides affordable 1 on 1 fitness training for seniors in our Senior Fitness Center (see above). Call the Senior Center for more information or to schedule an appointment with Dee, 860-285-1992.
Silver Sneaker BOOM Muscle– meets Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM in person. Goal of this program is to improve the health of your heart & lungs and to keep your bones strong.
Silver Sneakers Classic – meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM in person. Incorporates balance, stretching, walking and energetic exercise. Participants can choose to exercise sitting in chairs if preferred. A good class to start with if you haven’t exercised in a while.
Windsor Trail Riders – For seniors who enjoy bicycle riding and good company. We ride on multi-purpose trails in Connecticut and lower Massachusetts every Tuesday from April to October and welcome riders of all skill levels, provided they are wearing helmets. Yoga – Breathing techniques, yoga postures and relaxation techniques will be taught to enhance quality of life, increase flexibility, circulation, energy & stamina. Meets Wednesdays and Fridays at 10:00 AM in the Ballet Room.
