Fire and EMS Headquarters Open House
The Windsor Volunteer Fire Department and the Windsor Emergency Medical Services will be holding a dedication and open house to celebrate the completion of the new Fire and EMS headquarters building at 340 Bloomfield Avenue on Saturday, April 30th from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM.  All are welcome to join in on the celebration.

Earth  Day – Wilson Community Cleanup 
Let’s celebrate Earth Day! Take pride in our community and come join us on Saturday, April 23rd from 10:00 AM – 12 noon at Sharshon Park (Skitchewaug Street). We will be picking up litter and debris to help Wilson be a more walkable, beautiful neighborhood.  Feel free to bring a team with you. Water, gloves and clean up materials will be provided for all volunteers. To sign up, please go to the town’s website at www.townofwindsorct.com. Rain date is May 7th from 10:00 AM – 12 noon. Clean up of Pierson Lane by Stockbridge
I’d like to extend a thank you to the residents who live in the Stockbridge subdivision off of Pierson Lane for once again cleaning up litter and trash along Pierson Lane from Kennedy Road to the rail road crossing.   Over 20 residents participated in the cleanup which is an annual event.  Their efforts are very much appreciated.

Hypertension Workshop Series
The Windsor Health Department is hosting a series of 6 Hypertension Workshops / High Blood Pressure Workshops.  These workshops will be offered through June via Zoom and will discuss several different topics.  The next presentation will be held on April 11th from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM.

The dates, topics and how to register for all presentations can be found on the town’s website at www.townofwindsorct.com.  In addition, each time you return a workshop evaluation and a Pre-Diabetes Risk test, you will receive a $5 First Town Downtown Gift Card with a maximum of $30 awarded.  For questions, please call Jennifer Waldo at 860-285-1824.

Public Information Meeting –Broad Street Road Diet
Town staff will host an information meeting concerning the Broad Street Road Diet project on Tuesday, April 19th, starting at 6:30 PM here at Town Hall.  Staff and design consultants will provide an overview of the project objectives and preliminary plans.

FY 2023 Proposed Budget
The Town Council will be reviewing the Town Manager’s proposed FY 2023 operating budget through the month of April.   There will be formal opportunities to provide public comment at the budget review meetings on April 25 and April 27.   The Town Council is expected to adopt a proposed budget on April 27th and set a budget referendum for May 10, 2022.   The full budget can be found at https://townofwindsorct.com/finance/town-budget/fiscal-year-2023/.
