Windsor Affordable Housing Plan

The CT Legislature recently adopted an affordable housing law that requires every town in Connecticut to adopt an affordable housing assessment and plan. The Town Planning and Zoning Commission (TPZC) is responsible for performing that assessment and adopting a plan, but before they do, they would like the public to review and comment on the draft plan so that it represents the views of a cross-section of Windsor residents, who in-turn will support the strategies they helped to shape.

To achieve that goal, the TPZC will be soliciting public input in numerous ways. Below are links to a brief public survey, which will help us to understand both your personal housing situation as well as you opinions on affordable housing; and a link to the draft plan, which is filled with information on Windsor’s current housing conditions as well as preliminary strategies to address Windsor’s affordable housing needs.

After completing the survey and/or reviewing the plan, you may:

  1. attend a public workshop at 7:00 pm on May 17th, 2022 in the Town Hall Council Chambers, 275 Broad Street to hear the results of the online survey, review the draft plan, and provide feedback;
  2. submit comments in writing by email; or
  3. submit comments by mail to:

Windsor Planning Department
Affordable Housing Plan
275 Broad Street
Windsor, CT 06095

After the public workshop, the plan will be finalized, taking into account your input, and a public hearing will be set for the middle of June.
