Paint Recycling Program

Town of Windsor Paint Recycling Program

Residents of Windsor and Bloomfield have been able to recycle the following materials at the Town of Windsor Transfer Station on Huckleberry Road: e-waste, scrap metal, waste oil, propane tanks, automotive batteries, tires, mattresses, boxsprings, textiles, and corrugated cardboard, paper and plastics.

In an ongoing effort to increase the Town’s recycling efforts, the Town of Windsor has partnered with Paintcare, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that was created by the American Coatings Association (the trade association for paint manufacturers), to provide residents with a convenient drop-off location for unwanted paint products. The Transfer Station will accept all paint brands, regardless of when or where they were purchased, year-round during regular business hours. Residents should check in at the scalehouse upon their arrival at the transfer station for further details.

NOTE: Acceptable products must be in containers that are no larger than 5 gallons in size. Products must be in their original container and the container must have the original printed label and a secure lid. Open, leaking, unlabeled and empty containers are not accepted.

Residents can check the Paintcare website (www.paintcare.org) for additional details. Any questions related to this program, or related to the Windsor Transfer Station in general, should be directed to the scalehouse at 860-285-1833.
