The Windsor Senior Center gladly accepts donations at any time. Donations should be mailed to the Windsor Senior Center, 599 Matianuck Avenue, Windsor, CT 06095.
Membership to the Windsor Senior Center runs from January to December and is open to adults 55 years of age and over. You can call us at 860-285-1992 or come into the Windsor Senior Center and fill out an Annual Registration/Membership Form. Memberships are free but we do suggest a $10 donation for Windsor residents and a $20 donation for non-Windsor residents.
We are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Yes! Community Renewal Team provides a hot meal and we offer the location, Monday through Friday. Lunch is served at 11:45 AM. A NAPIS Form 5 needs to be completed in order to sign up for lunches. To reserve your spot, please call 860-285-1834 or sign up in the Senior Center Cafeteria.
Yes. Because of limited space and liability, membership is required to participate in our trips. There are rare instances where families or friends are invited to participate and that will be stated on the trip flyers. Individuals who are not members of the Senior Center will be required to sign a waiver before participating.
Unless otherwise stated, refunds are available with 72-hour notice unless tickets have already been purchased for the activity. If tickets or catering have been purchased, you will receive a refund only if you can find someone to take your place. If the Senior Center cancels the trip or event for any reason, full refunds will be made.
Our activities and programs are designed for physically and/or mentally active seniors. We are not staffed to assist and stay with any one individual, but we welcome aides or family members who accompany seniors who need assistance. We also encourage you to check out the Windsor Caring Connection Adult Day Health Center for those individuals who need more individualized support. They can be reached at 860-547-0251.
All seniors are welcome at the Windsor Senior Center. However, some programs and activities may be restricted to Windsor Seniors first with all others placed on a waiting list if necessary. (Some events sponsored by local clubs or town departments are limited to only Windsor Seniors, as well.

Dial-A-Ride FAQ’s
Windsor’s Dial-a-Ride provides transportation for senior citizens 60 years and older and adults receiving social security disability benefits who are without other means of daytime transportation. The service provides Windsor residents with in-town transportation to medical appointments, grocery shopping, banking, senior activities, beauty/barber appointments, the library, etc. Transportation is available Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Reservations must be made by noon at least two days prior to your transport date. To reserve a ride, please dial 860-285-1846 and leave your name, address, telephone number, destination, the time of your appointment and duration of your appointment. Your message will be recorded. The bus driver will call you the morning of your ride to advise you of your pickup time. If you have not received your confirmation call the morning of your ride or to cancel your ride, please call 860-285-1846 as soon as possible.
Please submit the Dial-A-Ride enrollment form to enroll in the program. You may also stop into the Town of Windsor Senior Center, 599 Matianuck Avenue, Windsor, CT to enroll for the Dial-A-Ride program. You may also call 860-285-1996 to request that an enrollment package be mailed to you. Once complete, please mail back to the Senior Center. Once verified, you will receive a confirmation letter by mail and can then call to make reservations on the reservation line. There is an annual suggested donation of $35.00 when you enroll which is good for the year. Our year runs on a fiscal year schedule from July 1 through June 30.
Yes. You must be enrolled as a Dial-a-Ride patron in order to be provided with transportation, at any time. Submit the Dial-A-Ride enrollment form to enroll.
No, unfortunately we cannot provide emergency medical transportation. We only provide scheduled transportation.
Windsor’s Dial-a-Ride service provides transportation to out-of-town appointments. Rides are available Monday through Friday to surrounding towns (see list below). Wheelchair transportation can be accommodated on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays to the towns of Bloomfield and Hartford. Please call 860-285-1992 at least seven days in advance of your scheduled appointment. Please let us know if you will be using a wheelchair, guide dog or other assistance. If you have not received your confirmation call or to cancel your ride, please call 860-285-1992 as soon as possible. We also transport patrons to the following surrounding towns: East Hartford, Enfield, Farmington, Newington, West Hartford and Windsor Locks.
If you’ve had anesthesia, we can transport you if you are accompanied by an assistant, otherwise, we can only transport you to your medical appointment and you would be responsible for your transportation home.
We have to make a time specific schedule based on the trips that we provide and the number of people who have requested transportation. Unfortunately, we cannot allow specific time requests. Your reservation will be set into the schedule for the day and the driver will call you by 8 AM – the morning of your ride to tell you the time of pick up. Please be ready 15 minutes prior to your pick up time in case the driver has cancellations.
