55+ Fitness Center and Group Classes

Our exclusive 55+ Fitness Center offers many opportunities to stay in shape or begin a new program. We also offer a variety of fitness classes including Yoga, Tai Chi, Aerobics, and more! Visit our fitness page to learn more.

Happy Hikers and Trail Riders Clubs

Operates seasonally every April through October. Happy Hikers hike local (CT & MA) mixed-terrain trails from easy/moderate to moderate/hard. Distances vary per week. Trail Riders bike on mostly flat, paved surfaces like the Greenways (in CT & MA). Mileage varies but may exceed 15 miles. Hope to see you on the trails!
When: Happy Hikers meet at 10:00 am on Fridays; Trail Riders meet at 10:00 am on Tuesdays

Pickleball (It’s a big hit!)

Enjoy a sport that continues to increase in popularity that’s similar to tennis, badminton, and ping pong. It’s very fun and easy to learn, as well as a great way to get your exercise every morning. Indoor play runs between Labor Day through Memorial Day. Outdoor play on our new pickleball courts runs Memorial Day through Labor Day.
When: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. Advanced Player days are Mondays and Wednesdays. Beginner/Intermediate Player days are Tuesday and Thursday. Friday invites All Players.
Cost: The Outdoor Season is free for all to play. The Indoor Season is free for Windsor residents, $90 for non-residents.

Annual Senior Health Fair & Flu Clinic

Each October, the Windsor Senior Center and Windsor Health Department sponsors a Senior Health Fair with the Flu & Pneumonia Shot Clinic.  Many free health screenings and services are provided at the Health Fair.  Watch this webpage for specific dates and additional information or call 860-285-1992 or 860-285-1824 for more information.

“Aw Shucks” Cornhole League
Come join us for our new drop-in Senior Cornhole League. Open to individuals 55+.This is a free program is made possible by “Be Well Windsor”.
When: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
Cost: Free

55+ Foot Care Clinic
A specially trained nurse performs an assessment of the feet and lower extremities, and does trimming, filing, and cleaning of nails. Cash or check payable to the nurse.
When: Monthly on the third and fourth Thursday from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM
Cost: $35.00 for basic foot care. Additional fees may apply agreed upon during the appointment.

55+ Hearing Clinic
With a vital education and work experience, Sam Johnson also wears hearing aids due to significant hearing loss experienced during his more than 10 years in the Naval Security Group, USN. He is very passionate about helping you hear your best, and will work with you to determine how.
When: Three times annually: February, May, September (time)
Cost: Free

55+ Memory Screenings
Clients may sign up for a 30-minute appointment with a health and well-being coach from Hartford Healthcare for a memory screening and discussion to maintain their health.
When: Last Wednesday of May, July, September, and November between the hours of 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Book online or call 860-285-1992.

“Ask the Nurse”
The professionally and medically trained staff from Kimberly Hall is available to check your blood pressure and answer any questions that you may have regarding. 
When: Monthly on the first Monday at 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Medical Equipment Lending Closet
Specific clean, new or used Durable Medical Equipment is accepted by donation at the Windsor Senior Center.  This equipment is then loaned out to Windsor residents free of charge.  Please call prior to dropping off your donation.  We accept walkers, rollators, wheelchairs, bath seats, transfer bath benches, commodes, canes, and grabbers. 
When: Drop offs and pick ups may be done Monday – Friday during 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Mindfulness & Meditation
This incredible offering with Fay Lavoie is now held every week for registered participants. No drop-ins. This is a free offering with limited space. Please understand that patrons that register, then miss more than three sessions will be removed from the roster.
When: Tuesdays at 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM

Walking Trail
Behind the L.P. Wilson Community Center, surrounding several softball and soccer fields, is a 1/3 mile loop paved walking trail. The trail is available for use from dawn to dusk. Lace up your sneakers and get a good cardio workout in. Trail is mostly flat.
