RISE Shuttle
With generous grant funding, the Windsor Health Department is partnering with Senior Transportation to help those 60 years or older get their vaccines. This shuttle service is called the RISE (Required Immunizations on Schedule for Everyone) Shuttle.
To make a reservation, please call 860-285-1996 at least two days in advance.
Riders are not required to wear a mask, but it is suggested. The vehicles are cleaned daily for your safety. We are committed to providing safe and reliable transportation for eligible Windsor residents so that they may access essential services in the area and maintain independent lifestyles.
When is the shuttle available?
The shuttle bring residents to the Windsor pharmacies (CVS, Price Chopper, Stop and Shop, and Target) to receive immunizations or to their primary care providers, but please remember to schedule in advance particularly when going to your doctor’s office. The shuttle service is not equipped for drive-thru vaccine services.
Is the shuttle wheelchair accessible?
Wheelchair accessible vehicles are available and an aide is suggested to accompany the wheelchair rider or meet the vehicle at the destination.
Who can use the RISE Shuttle?
The shuttle is a free service for Windsor residents 60 years or older and/or persons 18 years or older who have a disability. A companion and/or a Personal Care Attendant (PCA) may also ride the shuttle for free.
