Semicolon Campaign: April 16th, 2018 is World Semicolon Day
About: “Project Semicolon is an organization dedicated to the prevention of suicide. Our work is based on the foundation and belief that suicide is preventable and everyone has a role to play in preventing suicide. Through raising public awareness, educating communities, and equipping every person with the right tools, we know we can save lives.”
Essentially, the semicolon campaign is centered on the idea of the semicolon. The semicolon is most commonly used by authors and editors around the world in place of a period. By using this icon, instead of ending their sentence with a period, the author is allowed to continue their writing. The entire message is that just like these authors, YOU too are given the same opportunity to CONTINUE ON! ;
With the rapid growth of technology in the recent decade, the influx of knowledge has benefited the world greatly. However, with this growth comes the pains of unintended side effects. Two of these major issues being cyber-crime and cyber-bullying.
We here at the Windsor Police department want you, as community members, to be well informed of the potential threats you face in this new technology driven world.
